Check out this story. I really don't have anything I want to say but thought it was something that should be brought to the attention of those out there who might care.
I'm pretty blown away by this, the fact that they're accepting that. It's almost like they're classifying them, gays, as a race? Although they say unmarried gays it doesn't make it right, especially in gods eyes. The bible says that a man with a man is an ABOMINATION for them to be married, congratulations clergy, you found a loophole, and you think it's okay? Yeah the bible doesn't say homosexuality is just wrong in blunt text, but it clearly says a man married to a man is wrong, but just for a man to be gay and have any relations with another man like they would a women is still wrong, a man that isn't married to a women that has those kind of relations with them is a SIN. I could go on for a while about this because this is one of those things i'm strongly against. But i'll just put a scripture & done.
Leviticus 20:13
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
I appreciate you comment and agree. You quote an Old Testament reference but did you know that there are several New Testament references as well. I find that it is very important to quote the NT as often as possible over the OT where they speak on the same thing.
As a Christian we really don't wanna be quoting something that says "they shall surely be put to death." This kinda goes against the whole love others thing that is the foundation of the faith. There are however good verses in the NT that speak on such things
Check out 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 "9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men[a] 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
Footnotes: 1 Corinthians 6:9 The words men who have sex with men translate two Greek words that refer to the passive and active participants in homosexual acts."
This here includes homosexuals just about any other perversion of the human spirit. Yet it gives the hope that we all have and those who are stuck in sin have. To be washed and made clean. It is important to remember that above all we are called to love. Even the sinful. Sometimes we want to just love those who are working on getting out or were sinners (major sinners by our standards at least). That's not how it should be. That however is another post.
So I'm sad I wasn't the first to comment :( And since yahoo is being dumb and I can't find the article I'm even sadder, especially because it sounds like an interesting article. Your Sis.
